Jake Paul was declared the winner by a unanimous decision from the judges.
It was a highly anticipated fight. Mike Tyson, undisputed heavyweight world champion, faced Jake Paul, a Youtuber who has become a professional boxer since 2020, this Saturday, November 16 in the packed AT&T stadium in Arlington (Texas).
What was announced as an exhibition fight had taken on a different appearance since Tyson had slapped his opponent during their final face-to-face the day before, raising the stakes and spicing up expectations.
Bug and disappointment
Expectations not really met, ultimately. Since first technical problems arose in the game.
The clash was scheduled to be broadcast live on Netflix, becoming the first live fight ever to be broadcast on the streaming platform. But millions of subscribers rushed to the live broadcast, making the broadcast completely “skip”. And not just in France, since Internet users from all over the world have reported the problem on social networks.
If everything was working fine until around 4 a.m., it was when the last two fighters before Tyson and Paul entered the ring that the connection problems arose.

But it was not completely lost because some Internet users were able to follow the few live broadcasts here and there on the Internet. Up to four million spectators found themselves watching a live broadcast on X, the broadcast of which was also cut off after a few minutes. Then from retreat to retreat, it was the last three rounds which were fully seen by the majority.
But the other disappointment of the evening was the performance of “Iron Mike Tyson.” Nothing to say, the man has lost his punch. Surprising? Not really. But we expected a little more offensive and aggressiveness from the man who retired professionally in 2005 with a monster record of 50-6, including 44 victories by knockout.
Many hoped to feel the thousand shivers that ran through the entire body when this formidable boxer entered a ring and defeated his opponent in a few movements.
Unfortunately, it is now far from the level that made it famous.
Remaining on the defensive, he let his opponent take the upper hand on several occasions, with sequences, not the strongest, but the most constant.
Jake Paul was, at the end of the eight rounds, unanimously declared the winner by the judges. A losing return for the heavyweight legend, who still lasted more than four rounds. A performance which will earn him a pledge of $5,000,000 promised by Paul, in case the 58-year-old fighter takes up this challenge. Plus, of course, tens of millions that each of them stands to pocket.
A meeting to quickly forget for fans of combat sports.
