World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Shinsuke Nakamura made a surprise return on the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Nakamura made his intentions clear as he took out United States Champion LA Knight in a surprise attack from behind.

Shinsuke Nakamura makes a statement on return
LA Knight had just successfully defended his WWE United States Championship on SmackDown against Berto in an open challenge. But Knight’s victory celebration was cut short as he was ambushed from behind by a mysterious attacker. To the absolute shock of the WWE Universe, the mysterious attacker revealed himself to be Nakamura.
The King of Strong Style then took out Knight with a Kinshasa and left the ring as the United States Champion still tried to make sense of what had hit him.
Shinsuke Nakamura has not been seen on TV since April
Nakamura had been absent from WWE TV since April this year and has only made sporadic appearances at house shows in the past six months. The Japanese legend has also competed on WWE tours of Japan, Germany, and the UK.
Last month, there were reports that the former NJPW and IWGP Heavyweight Champion was set for an imminent TV return.
Nakamura vs Knight for United States Championship?
It is unclear if Nakamura, who returned to SmackDown after six months, will start feuding with Knight for the United States Championship.

Shinsuke Nakamura’s WWE journey
Nakamura, who made his WWE debut with NXT in 2016, is a two-time NXT Champion, a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a two-time United States Champion, and also won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship on one occasion.

Nakamura has also had several high-profile feuds, including one with AJ Styles, where he unsuccessfully pursued the WWE Championship held by the Phenomenal One.
