One less columnist? Thomas Guénolé columnist for “Touche pas à mon poste” since the start of the 2024 school year, risks no longer appearing in the program any time soon. Indeed, Cyril Hanouna announced this Friday, November 15, that he had been laid off until further notice after his behavior the day before.
“He forgot to tell us that to protest against the France – Israel match, Thomas Guénolé had hidden a keffiyeh in his jacket pocket”explained the presenter of “TPMP”, explaining that he only learned the meaning of this clothing detail last night, after the show. The columnist clarified what was hidden behind his gesture when leaving the set on X, ex-Twitter.

“There is no clothing police”
“In support of the Palestinian cause, on the occasion of the football match #France_Israel I wore this evening on the set of #TPMP the Palestinian keffiyeh in the pocket of my jacket. It's not much, but the symbols are important.he wrote while denying himself having “trapped” the show’s team. “It is common for columnists to wear clothing/accessories with a message. And there is no clothing police.”
However, Cyril Hanouna did not hear it that way. “What bothers me above all is the fact that you didn’t ask me. If he had asked me, frankly I would have told him to get on with his life. But I don't like the fact that you didn't ask me. This is where I consider it a trap”explained the presenter, emphasizing the importance of communication in his team. “You know in this show, we advocate peace above all. We do not want to import the Middle East conflict here. It’s a way of betraying me, by not asking me.”
And it was not the columnists seated around the table who contradicted him. “It’s a betrayal”, “That doesn’t surprise me about him” or “I am extremely angry, I will never trust him again”we could hear from Gilles Verdez, Jean-Michel Maire and even Géraldine Maillet. Everyone had their own comment. Guillaume Genton called his boss “to be wary of Thomas Guénolé”. Cyril Hanouna added: “It’s not possible to do things behind my back. There are rules here that are clear. […] I didn’t want him to come because for me he’s already fired for not having asked my permission.” The columnist Polska, for her part, was offended that this gesture took on such proportions, stating that if he had indicated his support for Israel, the same questions would not arise. Cyril Hanouna and the chroniclers have completely denied this hypothesis.
