Three former colleagues of Manu Levy, who accused the star host of NRJ of “moral harassment”, won their case at the industrial tribunal.
JUSTICE – The decision has been made. After the accusations of moral harassment brought by three former collaborators against the host Manu Levy, the NRJ radio was ordered by the industrial tribunal, this Friday, November 15, to pay them more than 300,000 euros in total. The star presenter of the station disputed the facts with which he was accused.
As AFP recalls, Isabelle Giami, Valentin Chevalier and Aude Fraineau demanded the reclassification of their contracts as permanent contracts or reminders of overtime. They will therefore receive around 100,000 euros each. They must also be compensated for the moral damage suffered, to the tune of approximately 10,000 euros in damages, indicates Liberation.
All three worked with Manu Levy for several years in the morning radio show. “ Speaking out was a risk for our career but today we are happy not to have signed agreements and confidentiality clauses and to have fought this fight to the end. We will finally be able to move forward,” confided Valentin Chevalier at the end of the hearing to Liberation.
Five plaintiffs
The case judged before the industrial tribunal this Friday included five plaintiffs, four of whom won their case. Cyrille Laporte, member of the social and economic committee (CSE) of the NRJ group, contested a warning received after an attempted dismissal. It was he who ordered an internal investigation following several testimonies on Manu Levy's working methods. He must also be compensated to the tune of approximately 8,000 euros.
Pauline Goireau, the 5th plaintiff, however, did not win her case. She made the link between the end of her trial period in the podcasts branch of NRJ and the fact that her companion, Valentin Chevalier, was one of the “whistleblowers” on the Manu Levy case.
In April, Liberation had published an investigation into “Manu”, the famous voice of the music radio morning show. She was describing a pattern “tyrannical”, a more than demanding workaholic with himself and others, imposing untenable schedules and being extremely picky. Several testimonies pointed to a megalomaniac and toxic personality, relating facts comparable to moral harassment and psychological violence. Some testimonies also mentioned sexist, homophobic and racist behavior and comments.
Manu Levy, for his part, completely rejects everything he is accused of. “ In 13 seasons on NRJ, I have not been aware of any complaint concerning me. Over the last 10 years, Valentin Chevalier has stayed 8 years, Isabelle Giami 5 years “, he emphasized in April in a statement sent to AFP.
