Barely 17,000 spectators were present, a first for the stadium. The atmosphere was tense. During the anthems, whistles sounded. Ten minutes after kick-off, a fight broke out in the stands between supporters of the Israel team and those of the France team. More than a dozen people were involved. After a brief crowd movement, the clashes ended. These are the only incidents in this match.
On Thursday, an exceptional system was deployed, with 4,000 police and gendarmes, the RAID to escort the Israel team, and special buses chartered for its supporters. Every entrance was highly guarded. The police remained on duty for part of the night, particularly in the surrounding bars and on public transport.
