During a conference given in Saint-Raphaël (Var) on November 8, Nicolas Sarkozy launched a serious attack on teachers' working hours, an old moon of the right. “We cannot afford to have a million teachers”judged the former President of the Republic (2007-2012), declaring, mockingly: “So, I know, you have to prepare for the lessons… Kindergarten, major section…”
Lucile (not her real name), 42 years old, has been a school teacher since 2004. She teaches kindergarten, in the main section, in Paris, in the priority education network (REP). For “Le Nouvel Obs”, the teacher details her schedule and her working conditions, a far cry from the caricatured representation of the former baron of the UMP (ancestor of the Les Républicains party).
