‘It’s massive motivation’
Stephen Bunting refused to deny that his newborn baby wasn’t down to celebrating his Masters glory!
The World No8 announced the birth of a second son Theo just 48 hours before his opening Grand Slam 5-4 win over Wessel Nijman yesterday (Sat).
The birth was exactly nine months after ‘The Bullet’ had won the Masters and darts fans claimed that it must have been a good night of joy for Bunting and wife Keila.
But Bunting, 39, dodged the issue and said: “I’m saying nothing but there won’t be another baby!
“I had my wife’s full blessing to come and play. It has been a bit difficult.
“I know they are getting discharged from hospital today. That’s been a Godsend to be honest and see a smiling face.
“I’ve got my other lad Toby here as well. He’s putting me through my paces.
“I’m in a good place. Obviously I’m away from Theo but I know he’s getting well looked after. There will be family round.
“She’s in a good position and if I keep winning, we’ll all be in a good position.
“It’s massive motivation. It’s a great feeling to be a dad for the second time. Just the emotions we’ve been through over the past few days. It’s been up and down.
“I’m here now and fully focused on the darts. I can go now and FaceTime Theo and the missus. We look forward to the next game as a family.”
