The president of the Burkina Faso Football Federation (FBF), Oumarou Sawadogo, is attending the match between Burkina Faso and Senegal for the fifth day of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN Morocco 2025) qualifiers. Both teams have already qualified, but Oumarou Sawadogo is expecting a victory for the Stallions of Burkina Faso this Thursday, November 14, 2024.
Oumarou Sawadogo recalls the past. After his election, his first outing with the Stallions was marked by a 3-1 victory against Malawi. The FBF president hopes this trip to Bamako to face Senegal will bring similar fortune once again.
“As president of the Burkina Faso Football Federation, my wish is for my team to win. If not, I hope for a match worthy of the Stallions, except for a defeat,” said the head of Burkina Faso football. The Burkinabe team is dealing with several injuries, including those of Hervé Koffi and Bertrand Traoré. However, Oumarou Sawadogo shows no signs of concern regarding this issue.

“Injuries are just part of football. But if you are called upon because someone is injured, it is your chance to show that you belong in the team. It’s an opportunity for those who have been summoned to prove themselves. If they demonstrate their worth and play at their true level, we won’t have to worry about our team,” assured Oumarou Sawadogo.
The match against Senegal is being played in Bamako due to the unavailability of the Stade du 4 août in Ouagadougou. The encounter is scheduled for 19:00 UTC.
