Agricultural crisis: elected officials come to debate with Young Farmers on a Drôme roundabout

After the municipal signs exchanged, those removed, the walling of the entrances to the Ardèche prefecture or even the deposit of a radar in front of the Drôme administrationDrôme farmers are taking their tractors out on the roads this Thursday noon. The Young Farmers' Union (JA) invites local parliamentarians to a debate on the roundabout at the entrance to the A7 motorway at Tain-l'Hermitage, in Drôme des Collines.

They are around fifty farmers gathered on sitewith around ten tractors. Ten months after the historic protest movement and highway blockades, “the anger is still there” explains Jean-Raphaël Betton, secretary of the Young Farmers of the canton of Tain l'Hermitage.

Elected officials actually came to debate: Paul Christophle, PS deputy; Thibaut Monnier, RN deputy who came accompanied by Marion Maréchal, MEP and president of the Identity-Libertés party. The parliamentary collaborators of senators Gilbert Bouchet and Bernard Buis are also present. The farmers want to express their opposition to the agreement with South America, Mercosur, and the administrative overload they are experiencing.
