Official announcement from EHC Kloten
During the championship game between EHC Kloten and HC Davos on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, there was an accident in the SWISS Arena with four people injured. During the second third break, gas escaped from the grill at a buvette in the western part of the stadium, which caused a flash of flames and a deflagration.
An employee of EHC Kloten Sport AG was seriously injured in the accident, one employee and two female employees suffered minor to moderate injuries. Everyone was on duty at the affected buvette. After receiving initial care from an ambulance team, they were taken to the hospital in an ambulance. No match visitors were injured in the accident.
The cause of the accident is currently unclear and is being investigated by the Zurich Cantonal Police.
