Gustavo Scarpa defined the duel with Flamengo this Wednesday (13) as a “mental game” for Atlético. The teams drew 0-0 at Maracanã, in Rio de Janeiro, in a match in the 33rd round of the Brazilian Championship. He scored in Sunday's match, which culminated in runner-up in the Copa do Brasil.
“A very mental game, with a lot of courage too, that we needed to raise our heads after a defeat at the weekend”, began Scarpa, in a post-game interview with Premiere.
“Game with two different halves, we practically only defended in the first half, in the second half we suffered some counterattacks, but we created more than them, we needed to take advantage”, added Scarpa.
Galo will now return to the field on Saturday (16), at 6:30 pm (Brasília time). In a delayed game of the 19th round of the Brasileirão, the team will visit Athletico-PR, at the Ligga Arena, in Curitiba.
Despite the rest of Serie A, Galo has one focus: the Copa Libertadores final. Atlético will decide the tournament against Botafogo, at 5pm, on Saturday, November 30, at the Mâs Monumental Stadium, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
