In tribute to the victims of the attacks of November 13, 2015, which left 130 dead nine years ago, several commemoration ceremonies were organized on Wednesday in Paris, in the presence of Michel Barnier and several members of the government.
The Prime Minister as well as the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, attended a ceremony in front of the Bataclan hall. The Minister of Justice, Didier Migaud, and the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, were also present.
On November 13, 2015, terrorist attacks claimed the lives of 92 people in this concert hall on 11e district of Paris. A minute of silence was observed and wreaths of flowers were placed in front of the entrance to the Bataclan, noted journalists from Agence France-Presse. Michel Barnier and Anne Hidalgo then went to meet the survivors of the attack and their loved ones.
“We will never forget”
Earlier in the morning, Mme Hidalgo also paid tribute to the victims in front of the Stade de France in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis), in front of the bar Le Carillon and the restaurant Le Petit Cambodge, in the 10e district of Paris, whose terraces had been targeted by terrorists.
Another time of tribute and collection was held at the town hall on 11e borough. A ceremony “intimate”organized by associations of victims of the November 13 attacks. The president of the Life for Paris association gave a speech on the theme of trust. “We are entering the tenth year of our life after November 13”he commented, wishing to highlight the crossing of “these nine years together”.
“We will never forget”wrote, for his part, Emmanuel Macron on “engraved in [les] memoirs in letters of pain ». The president paid tribute “to the victims, to the families, to those who gave everything to preserve life”.
