With the promise of reducing consumption and electricity bills, the heat pump has only met with moderate success. Installations have fallen drastically since the start of 2024, for several reasons.

Pay less for your heating, while doing something for the environment. This is the promise of heat pumps, production of which must double by 2027. But their sales have fallen this year. To understand why, you have to go into the field. An individual wishes to install a heat pump in his home. A costly investment of 19,300 euros to save on electricity bills.

However, heat pump installations have become much rarer for this company this year. One of the main reasons is the price of the equipment. “It’s a big investment, on an installation like that, we can go from 12,000 to 18,000 euros”explains François-Xavier Mathieu, commercial director of Hellio, who ensures that “it’s very well subsidized”. Out of 19,300 euros of intervention, the customer will only pay 3,600 euros.

All this thanks to aid such as MaPrimeRénov' or FranceRénov'. The problem is that the conditions for benefiting from it have continued to change this year.
