After Stella in 2023, Piaf in 2021 or even Magma in 2020 and Arti in 2018, Meisenthal has just unveiled its 2024 Christmas bauble: Cactus. The object is eagerly awaited by collectors, but also Christmas lovers who will rush to come and buy it tomorrow on the Meisenthal glassmaking sitethe CIAV, in . Between 1999 and 2024, 35 models of Christmas baubles have been published by the Center International d' Verrier.

In a press release, the Meisenthal glass site explains: “Meisenthal Christmas baubles are durable objects that are collected and passed down from generation to generation, just like the subjects they address. In this context, the designer Mark Brauninvited this year to imagine a contemporary Christmas bauble for our collections, wanted the model he was going to design to be able to bear witness in the future to the issues of our time and in particular to evoke questions related to climate issues. The designer chose to approach the subject with spicy irony, imagining a hypothetical future tropical Christmas in our latitudeswhich would see the cactus replace our traditional Christmas trees, decorated with balls whose shape would be inspired by its fruits. The Kaktus Christmas ball, beyond its decorative function and its aesthetics, thus carries within itself the message of a necessary collective awareness to avoid, in the future, to have to celebrate Christmas on the balcony!”
