Astec Industries, Inc. hosted the Women of Asphalt Executive Seminar at their Jerome Avenue headquarters in Chattanooga last Thursday and Friday. Women of Asphalt is an organization which strives to advance and support women in the asphalt industry.
“This two-day seminar brought together leaders across the asphalt industry, fostering thought leadership and acknowledging the pivotal role women play in the field,” officials said.
“I’m proud of all of you in this room,” Astec Board Member Jay Winford said, as he kicked off his keynote presentation.
In addition to Mr.
Winford’s discussion, attendees had the opportunity to learn about innovation, empowerment and leadership from a distinguished panel of presenters, including experts from Astec, Women of Asphalt, Pennsylvania Asphalt Pavement Association, Aztec Asphalt Technology and Total Asphalt Rejuvenation.
“Events like this are vital to empowering and advancing women in our industry,” Astec Global Vice President and Head of Human Resources Aletheia Silcott said. “At Astec, we’re proud to host and champion such impactful initiatives, providing the resources and support that help the women who shape our industry lead with authenticity and confidence.”
The event also included interactive sessions such as a tour of Astec’s Manufacturers Road facility and a Women of Asphalt panel and Q&A, sparking conversations around innovation in the industry and the impact women make.
“As a global leader in the manufacturing industry, Astec is a proud supporter of Women of Asphalt and looks forward to continuing to empower the women who are shaping the industry,” officials said.
