Armistice: a ceremony full of emotion

Monday morning, the ceremony commemorating the Armistice was held in front of the war memorial on Place de la Raison in Figeac. Michel Larguille, president of Fnaca, welcomed the civil and military authorities in the presence of a large audience, including many elected officials such as senator Jean-Marc Vayssouze, deputy Christophe Proenca, Vincent Labarthe, president of Grand Figeac, and André Mellinger, mayor of Figeac, as well as many children. Anne-Cécile Vialle, sub-prefect, read the message from Sébastien Lecornu, Minister of the Armed Forces, recalling the memory of the “perished on the ground” and, since 2012, of all the “died for ”. Three young people from the municipal youth council had previously read the message from the French Union of Associations of Combatants and War Victims. After the laying of wreaths, the ceremony continued at the cemetery's war memorial, concluding this solemn tribute.
