A man and a woman crashed and died during a tandem paragliding flight at Clariden GL on Sunday afternoon. The exact cause of the accident is currently being determined.

For reasons that are unclear, the team ran into difficulties after the start, as the Uri cantonal police, who were deployed to the accident, announced on Monday. The crash then occurred on the north wall of Clariden.

The paragliders were a 51-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation, and the cause of the accident is being investigated by the Swiss Safety Investigation Board. The Clariden is located in the Glarus Alps in Switzerland. It is located on the border between the cantons of Uri and Glarus.
