Pirelli enters second year as FIA GT World Cup’s official partner with limited edition tyre
Entering the second year of a three-year agreement with the FIA that commenced in 2023, Pirelli is once again the official tyre partner and supplier for the FIA GT World Cup, traditionally held as part of the Macau Grand Prix
For this weekend’s event at the renowned Guia Circuit, Pirelli will provide a special limited-edition tyre featuring unique design elements.
All 23 cars from six different GT3 manufacturers are set to battle it out for the FIA GT World Cup equipped with the tested and proven P Zero DHF tyres from Pirelli. The tyres are of the same specification as last year and are used worldwide by several championships for GT3-specification cars.
Adding a distinctive visual element, this year’s tyres feature special sidewall artwork inspired by a Chinese dragon, with bold yellow decals standing out against the black sidewall to symbolise the venue of the world’s most prestigious sprint race for GT3 machinery.
The Italian tyre manufacturer continues its long-standing relationship with the FIA in GT3 racing, which dates to the inaugural running of the FIA GT World Cup in 2015 and has also included the 2018 FIA GT Nations Cup as well as the three editions of the FIA Motorsport Games that have taken place to date.
In addition to the FIA GT World Cup, Pirelli will also supply tyres for the FIA Formula Regional World Cup, which co-headlines this year’s Macau GP alongside the GT event.
Both GT and FR drivers will benefit from Pirelli’s advanced tyre know-how to handle the unique challenges of the Guia Circuit, which is known for its narrow, high-speed layout as well as abrasive surface combined with frequently high track temperatures and significant track evolution from session to session.
Additionally, the winner of the FIA GT World Cup Qualification Race will receive a Pirelli Pole Position award.
The FIA GT World Cup, along with the Macau GP co-headlining FIA FR World Cup, will benefit from extensive live streaming via the FIA’s official YouTube channel.
