Among the tourism products designed to enhance the visitor experience that Macao will be presenting at FITUR is its cultural and artistic heritage. The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) recalls that “Macao was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005, the district is called the ‘Historic Centre of Macao’. This demonstrates the worldwide recognition of its unique East-West culture. Macao has also been awarded the title of Culture City of East Asia 2025.

Another attraction is gastronomic tourism: “Macao was designated a Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO on 31 October 2017 and is famous for its diverse culinary scene, which blends Portuguese and Chinese influences.” This is complemented by entertainment and events: “The MGTO will highlight Macao’s world-class entertainment options, including shows, concerts and international events. Special emphasis will be placed on upcoming festivals and events that attract audiences from all over the world”.

Its smart tourism initiatives will also be featured: “Macao is committed to harnessing technology to enhance the visitor experience. We will be showcasing our smart tourism initiatives, including digital platforms for easy navigation, contactless services and personalised travel planning tools”. Ultimately, “we look forward to welcoming partners and visitors to explore the rich experiences that Macao has to offer”.

The Macao Government Tourism Office states that taking part in FITUR is hugely important to Macao for the following reasons:
