It was in 1994, in Montreal, that Charlotte Cardin was born. Winter is approaching, Canadian temperatures are dropping and little Charlotte arrives in a family where Music has its place. We sing there during family meals.
The young girl learned the xylophone at the age of five, then the piano, before devoting herself to singing. “I could work on something that belonged to me, as if it were an external instrument even though it was my heart. I never stopped” she confided years later.
It was as a model that the young woman was first spotted and quickly appeared on the covers of magazines. Alongside the podiums, she tried her first audition in 2013, for the telecrochet “La Voix”. The casting was a success since the 19-year-old young woman reached third place in the show and quickly attracted the sympathy of the public. Garou also falls under the spell and asks him to join him for a duet, “Des vents, des mots”. The title was successful and took Charlotte Cardin to France, on the set of “The Voice” on which Garou was a member of the jury.
In 2016, the young artist signed a contract with a label and released her first EP, entitled “Big Boy”. This first solo success is followed by a second, “Main Girl”, which Elton John puts directly in his Spotify list. A dubbing which does not go unnoticed and which is confirmed by numerous awards. The year 2016 was definitely memorable for her, since she met Alyosha Schneider, whose life she has shared ever since. The two lovers recently performed “Ensemble” on the Olympia stage.
2021 sees the release of his debut album, “Phoenix”. That year it will be the fourth most listened to in Canada, just behind Justin Bieber and the albums of The Weeknd. A great achievement for the young woman, to whom the future seems to smile, crowned with her four Junos (the equivalent of the Grammy or Victoires de la Musique in Canada).
Two years later, “99 Nights” completes his discography. It notably contains a song dedicated to Jim Carrey, in which the singer proposes to marry him. And one day: “I get a call from a hidden number on my phone, I answer and I hear 'Hello Charlotte, this is Jim Carrey' My heart stopped beating. He told me he really liked the song. A dream come true for the woman who is now the most fashionable Canadian woman.
