Luís Neto will join João Pereira’s technical team in Alvalade, as per Record reported in a timely manner. The former player, who said goodbye to Sporting fans at the end of last season, is seen by the club’s directors as an element with the capacity to maintain unity in the dressing room in a transition phase. João Pereira himself is aware that the return of the former captain could be an important asset. Neto was in a phase of reflection about the future, but he was a constant presence in recent times in Alcochete, where he continued to visit friends. The Portuguese international had an offer from President Frederico Varandas to join the structure, which he ended up accepting.
Neto is thus part of the beginning of a new era in Alvalade, with João Pereira in charge of a technical team that will have the difficult mission of continuing the work carried out so far by Ruben Amorim.
