Our report cards Atalanta-Udinese

CARNESECCHI, VOTE 6: present on Davis in the 8th minute and again at the beginning of the second half on Thauvin, he instead seems to be in default when – perhaps slightly loaded – he leaves the goal almost unguarded for the lob of the French former World Champion at the beginning of the second half. Absolute on Kamara's great slash, even though his vision was clear and very good at managing a couple of high exits at the end, when the ball was hot.

DJIMSITI, VOTE 6: he leaves the field early, when the match was not yet fully underway. A small flaw on Payero a few minutes earlier.

HE, VOTE 5.5: after a series of “Bremer-like” performances he seems to be in a bit of difficulty in the first half, also due to the great positioning ability of Davis, not surprisingly preferred to someone like Lucca in the last two outings against Juventus and, indeed, Atalanta . Then he seems to get back on track, especially when in the air he helps a lot to limit both the Englishman and Lucca.

KOSSOUNOU, VOTE 7: It was immediately clear that the potential was important, also because the boy's CV is enviable for a 23 year old, now we have had confirmation of this. The best on the pitch, without ever a flaw: fast and useful in the offensive proposition, both with the head and when it is necessary to break the line. He gives a great hand to Hien in the final part of the first half, thanks also to his greater speed on the long run compared to the Swede.

ZAPPACOSTA, RATING 6: the moment is very positive, and it shows for a good part of the period in which he is on the pitch: leg and resourcefulness present. Then bad luck comes in: injury a few seconds after the display of recovery in the first half, the bench asking us to wait to change and grit our teeth. Everything is logically correct: it's a shame that we lack the energy to chase Kamara, who has a free field and kicks in an almost unstoppable way for Carnesecchi.

PAŠALIĆ, VOTO 7: double task from the start: throwing ourselves behind Retegui when he attacks and, at the same time, providing support from behind when needed, shielding as much as possible the plays of the Friulian team that travel centrally. In the first task he found the goal to make it 1-1, putting it behind Okoye with great precision. The greatness, in addition to the realization, lies in the ability to start the action and open correctly on Samardžić.

DE ROON, VOTE 6: certainly not his best version of the season, but the picture of his performance lies in a great recovery following his mistake, with a lateral foul. In short, even on less “sunny” days, reliability is not lacking.

RUGGERI, RATING 6.5: his good diagonal favors Lookman's possible advantage, which was then canceled out via VAR. He is more rested than the other wingers and it shows: an excellent performance after a less brilliant period than he was used to.

SAMARDŽIĆ, VOTO 6.5: in the first half it seems less lively than other times, almost as if it were going a bit with the handbrake on. It grows significantly with the entry of Bellanova, with which it seems to have a very good connection.

RETEGUI, VOTE 5.5: he is always there in the area, and Runjaić's defenders know this very well. By a handful of centimeters he is unable to hit effectively on a couple of occasions, otherwise he is often canceled out by the good defensive work of Udinese's defensive department. Less participatory, not only through his own fault, in the game away from the area compared to the latest outings.

LOOKMAN, RATING 6: he often faces the lesser-known Lautaro in the championship, who however is equally hard to die, thanks to ten years of tough Argentine battles. For seventy minutes he is largely not enough, even with a not-to-be-blamed attitude, then he gives gas to the engine and creates a couple of truly incidental dangers, even if only on a psychological level, in the match. Also thanks to his outbursts around the 70th minute, perhaps, Udinese found less fuel to attack in the final than expected.

BELLANOVA, RATING 7: ready immediately to enter the match, he accelerates like a formidable athlete immediately after a few seconds, almost as if to set the record straight. low assist for Mario Pašalić and then, five turns later, the lethal cross for Okoye, deflected towards goal by Touré.

EDERSON 5.5: the warrior's rest doesn't last long: in the 24th minute he is already forced to return to the field to remedy the problem suffered by Djimsiti. On the occasion of Kamara's goal it seems like the player is supposed to come out to shorten the goal and he doesn't do it. A detail that earns him half a vote less, otherwise he shows good utility with a couple of defensive plays towards the end.

BRESCIANINI, RATING 5.5: good at earning the shot in the 73rd minute, but he wasn't effective at finishing, as part of a conclusion that didn't seem so difficult. Not very clear in the management of a couple of situations that seemed potentially promising from an offensive point of view.

ZANIOLO, RATING 6.5: important talent but not entirely lucky and certainly with some shortcomings to be a champion. He stops just now that he seemed to have entered the mechanism. Good performance, however: he came on for Retegui, plays well on the bank and cleverly plays a couple of silver balls.

GASPERINI, RATING 6.5: in football it is essential, especially nowadays, to always offer something new. In some situations the team seems to propose a 4-2-3-1 even before the forced exit of Djimsiti. Then, once the former Zurich player was injured, the change became 100% effective, with Pašalić taking over and the attacking wingers moving away. Bellanova's entry provides new solutions on the right, undoubtedly, and his team finds the key to resolving the match in five minutes.
