It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Dr. Arthur Lieber on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Arthur was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Lieber on June 3rd, 2022
Arthur is survived by his sons David (Pam) Lieber and Joel (Cathy) Lieber; grandson Seth (Rebecca) Lieber; and great- grandchildren Evelyn and Callum Lieber.
Arthur was born in Vienna Austria. Upon emigrating to the United States, he moved to Lexington Kentucky where he graduated from Henry Clay High School. He then attended and graduated from the University of Kentucky summa cum laude.
Arthur was accepted and graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1953.
He then did his internship at the University of Cincinnati general hospital then subsequently went to the University of Alabama Birmingham to complete a residency in internal medicine. Arthur then went to complete his final residency and specialization in Radiology at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Lieber found his final destination as Associate Professor of Radiology and Radiology practice at the University of Kentucky Medical School and Hospital where he retired from after over 60 years of distinguished service.
The visitation will be at Milward’s on South Broadway from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 12. On Wednesday, November 13, there will be a memorial at Temple Adath Israel at 11 a.m., interment at Lexington Cemetery to follow immediately after the service
