The French Federation extends with Gilbert

The story continues between the FFR and Gilbert.

Gilbert, the historic equipment manufacturer Gilbert, inventor of the modern oval ball, extends its partnership with the French Federation (FFR), thus consolidating a collaboration of more than three decades. The collaboration extends the presence of the ball to all levels of French practice.

This new contract strengthens Gilbert's dominant position in world rugby, with the British brand already equipping the twenty best men's nations and the ten best women's teams. The agreement includes the supply of official balls for all national competitions, from the French teams to the amateur divisions, including school rugby.

A partnership that goes from balls to player protection

“This partnership of more than 30 years with Gilbert is a pillar in the development and performance of the French teams. Their expertise accompanies us on a daily basis, both for high-level teams and for the training sector. Together, we are committed to continuing to promote rugby excellence and preparing future generations of players for the biggest international competitions,” comments the vice-president of the FFR in charge of high level, Jean-Marc Lhermet.

For his part, Richard Gray, CEO of Gilbert Rugby, announces the upcoming launch of a new range of official Rugby balls, testifying to the bicentennial brand's continuing ambition to serve French rugby at all levels.

The commitment also extends to protective equipment (helmets and shoulder pads) and now concerns all finals of the Elite 1 and 2 Women's championships, as well as the National 1 and 2 competitions. The French men's and women's teams will use these balls at major tournaments like the Six Nations and WXV World.
