Former Moroccan international Hassan Akesbi, emblematic figure of Moroccan and top scorer in the history of Nîmes Olympique, died this Saturday, November 9, 2024.

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced this sad news in a communiqué official, expressing his deep sadness and paying tribute to one of the great names of national sport.

In its message of condolences, the FRMF, represented by its president Fouzi Lekjaa and the members of its board of directors, sends its most sincere condolences to the family of Hassan Akesbi, to his loved ones, as well as to the entire Moroccan football family. The federation expressed its solidarity with its family and colleagues in this immense loss.

Hassan Akesbi, exceptional player, left his mark on the history of Moroccan and French football. During his career, he wore the jersey of the Moroccan national team with honor on several occasions and played in prestigious clubs in Europe, notably at Nîmes Olympique, Stade de and AS Monaco.

The FRMF salutes the memory of a player who contributed in an exemplary manner to the international influence of Moroccan football.
