India won the first IND vs SA T20I in Durban by 61 runs.
On Saturday, the Indian cricket team cruised to a 61-run victory over South Africa in the first T20I in Durban to lead the three-match series 1-0.
South Africa, after winning the toss and opting to bowl first, struggled to contain India’s aggressive batsmen. Despite losing Abhishek Sharma early, Sanju Samson’s century powered India to an above par total of 202 runs.
Samson’s sizzling knock of 107 runs off 50 balls included seven fours and 10 sixes. Samson was well supported by Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma who chipped in with valuable contributions of 21 and 33 runs respectively. Coetzee was the star with the ball for the Proteas, returning with the figures of 3/37.
Defending a huge total, the Indian team took early control by taking three wickets in the powerplay. Varun Chakaravarthy led the Indian bowling lineup, picking up the three wickets, including the vital strikes of Heinrich Klassen and David Miller, which helped India post a massive victory.
IND vs SA: Most runs
Thanks to his excellent century, Indian opener Sanju Samson leads the runs chart with 107 runs. Following Samson with 33 runs is India’s middle order batsman Tilak Varma.
Klassen’s 25-run innings has him at the third spot, while his teammate Gerald Coetzee follows closely with 23 runs. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav with 21 runs rounds off the list.

Varun Chakravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi and Coetzee took three wickets each in the match. Chakravarthy had the best economy among the three of 6.25, followed by Bishnoi with 7.00 and Coetzee with 9.25.
Avesh Khan with his two wicket in the game is ranked fourth while South African all-rounder Marco Jansen rounds off the list with one wicket to his name.
