Pro-Palestinian activists demonstrated on Friday, November 8, against the arrival of Yaël Braun-Pivet at 3 University, where slogans hostile to Israel and the President of the National Assembly were spray painted. “Yaël get out of there”could we read among the tags, many of which “Free Gaza” or “Free Palestine”registered during the night near the establishment. Yaël Braun-Pivet is expected at the end of the afternoon for an exchange with students from a university association.

In the middle of the afternoon, several dozen demonstrators continued in the same vein, chanting “Criminal Israel, Yaël complicit” or “Yaël, get out of there, Lyon 3 is not yours” near the university.

Several left-wing organizations, including the Solidaires and Unef student unions and local young LFIs, denounced its arrival, calling it “prominent figure of unconditional support for the criminal actions of the Israeli state” in a press release. “While the deaths caused by Israel's operations number in the tens of thousands (more than 41,000 dead!) Yaël Braun-Pivet once again dared to defend the delivery of weapons to a criminal state”highlight the signatories of the press release. On October 6, Yael Braun-Pivet declared that he “Israel should not be disarmed”in reaction to statements by Emmanuel Macron calling for an end to deliveries of weapons used to carry out fighting in Gaza.
