Unlike the tragedy recorded in Valencia in previous days, the community in Cadaqués and throughout Catalonia was warned of the incidence of heavy rains in the sector.

In addition, according to Pia Serinyana, mayor of the town, a notice was activated especially to warn drivers not to leave cars parked on the streets, taking into account the history.

Around 2 and 3 in the morning, was when the rainfall was most intense and the river formed that ended up dragging around thirty cars and affecting the streets of the community.

In several videos it was recorded how the strong current of water dragged the cars that overturned and remained piled on a bridge in the sector. The shocking images gained relevance when compared to the tragedy in Valencia.

According to data from Serinyana, 32 vehicles were affected by the strong flooding in the early morning caused by the heavy rains that focused on Pení, a mountain next to the town.

Fortunately, the situation left only material damage so far, confirmed by the Generalitat Firefighters and the Mossos d’Esquadra, authorities that inspected the affected cars.

On the other hand, the floods that affected the Valencian Community last week, There are already 223 fatalities found in the rubble during the cleaning work.
