Morocco has a total population of 36,828,330 inhabitants, including 36,680,178 Moroccans and 148,152 foreigners.
The most populated region is Casablanca-Settat with 7.68 million inhabitants, of whom 60,902 are foreigners. It is also home to the largest number of households, at 2 million. It is followed by the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 5.1 million people, including 1,301,492 households.
The 3rd region which encompasses the largest number of inhabitants is Marrakech-Safi with 4.9 million and 1.18 million households.
The distribution between urban and rural areas shows that Casablanca-Settat and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra display a significant concentration of the population in urban areas. Indeed, the first has 5.6 million people in the urban area and 1.5 million households, while the second has 3.6 million inhabitants and 985,000 households.
Even in rural areas, it is the Marrakech-Safi region which is in the lead since it accommodates 2.6 million people, the equivalent of a little more than 604,000 households. It is followed by the Casablanca-Settat region, which is home to 2 million people and around 466,000 households.
