He will have to answer for his actions again in court. Jean-Yves Prigent was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention in , this Thursday, November 7, at the end of his police custody. The former kayak champion and coach is accused of rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment.

He partially admits the facts of rape

The criminal court has already convicted for the first time on July 12, 2024 for sexual assault on two young men he was training. But last September, one of the victims denounced new facts, this time concerning rapes committed between 2023 and 2024notably during sports competitions in Prague and Bourg-Saint-Maurice.

At the same time, two other young people testify them too. A young man reveals that he was sexually assaulted between 2005 and 2008, when he was a minor, and a young woman mentions acts of sexual harassment, describing repeated comments with sexual connotations.

Placed in police custody this November 5Jean-Yves Prigent partially admitted the acts of rapebut contests sexual assault and harassment, indicates the public prosecutor of Rennes, Frédéric Teillet. At the end of this police custody, the 70-year-old man was brought before an investigating judge who therefore indicted him.
