With 105.9 km of traffic jams in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes at 8:40 a.m. this Thursday, November 7, 2024, the situation is considered “exceptional” on the roads, according to Bison Futé. Several accidents have been reported in the Lyon metropolitan area, without causing serious injuries, but further complicating traffic.
Problems on the A7
The A7 is the most problematic motorway axis for driving this Thursday morning. Two accidents took place, one early in the morning in Ternay, the other at 8:10 a.m. according to the Rhône firefighters. The second in Saint-Fons in the direction of Marseille, involving a car and a two-wheeler, was one lightly injured.
“Crumpled sheet metal”, but also significant congestion. Between Lyon-Centre and Vienna, it took 35 minutes to travel on the A7 around 8:40 a.m.
The other main saturated axes
An accident also took place on the A450 near Saint-Genis-Laval, in the direction of Lyon, shortly before seven a.m., indicate the Rhône firefighters who did not have to intervene on site.
The A46, the A47, the A42, the A450 as well as the N346 were also particularly saturated this morning. Traffic was complicated at the entrances to Grenoble and Saint-Etienne.
Next to 40 km of cumulative traffic jams are recorded around 9:30 a.m. in the Lyon metropolitan area, compared to 62 km an hour earlier.
