“We studied them and we will prepare. We still have a lot of time, which I will try to use to prepare the players for what will happen tomorrow,” says the coach.
“We expect the opponents to play with the ball a lot. They have a system in how they direct their attacks,” says Moroz about Thursday’s opponent. “Their style of play is attacking and combinational, they are excellent forwards, very fast wingers.”
However, the coach also pointed out that there are nuances in the opponent’s game that RFS can try to use to their advantage.
In the 2021/2022 season, in the third qualifying round of the UEFA European Conference League, RFS already played with the Belgian club, losing 2:3 to “Gent” in the sum of two games.
“I remember those games very well. We were not yet mature for games of this rank and we looked at the opponent as something incredible,” recalls Moroz.
“Those games showed that we can fight against the Belgian club, and we will try to do it tomorrow as well,” promised the coach.
He recalls that the previous Europa League matches this autumn with the Turkish club Galatasaray Istanbul and the German team Eintracht Frankfurt were different, but he was “satisfied with the quality of our game and with the result against Galatasaray Istanbul”.

“I don’t know how the opponents perceived us, but we were preparing to show our best game on the field. And we did it,” says Moroz.
This season in Latvia, RFS has already fulfilled both tasks given by the club’s management – to win the Latvian Championship and the Latvian Cup.
“We have fulfilled both tasks and we will enjoy this game just like the previous games in the Europa League, because it is a great stage for us,” emphasizes the coach.
He explains that it is always interesting to understand what the team’s players and coaches are like.
“There is no fear. If we didn’t solve our tasks in Latvia, I would look at the game with the Belgian club differently. Now we can fully concentrate on tomorrow’s game,” emphasizes Moroz.
RFS defender Daniel Balodis mentioned that there have been a lot of games this season, but the schedule is still the same.
“We’ve had two, even three games every week and it’s the same schedule this week. We have entered the rhythm and got used to it,” says Balodis.
