“The evening training the day before the match always has a special atmosphere. And it is a beautiful stadium, so I am looking forward to the match,” Lammers opens in conversation with RTV Oost. The turf is also in good condition. “It couldn’t be better, and it’s also a lovely temperature. Delicious.”
“Every match is great, but these are the fun evenings. Especially if you end it with a win,” Lammers continues about the European away matches. “Last year we fought for this with the club and I am happy that I can play these matches for FC Twente,” Lammers continues. It is suggested that Lammers is better in important matches. “I don’t know. I hope to be good in every match, again tomorrow.”
Lammers realizes that FC Twente has to get points. “We have played very Nice matches in Europe, but if we do not win against OGC Nice we will start to lag behind, at least in Europe. It is a very difficult away match,” he says.
“We played good games and received compliments, but we now have to get points if we want to continue in Europe,” says the striker. “When I look at the rankings I think: well. It is also very sad that you do not beat Fenerbahce. We can be very happy with the performance, but I would also like to participate after the winter.”
Getting points in the south of France is not an easy task. “I think Nice is a very good team. They have a lot of qualities. Up front, on the ball, and strong guys at the back. We will arm ourselves against that. But I think we were the strongest side on the ball for most of this season.” So if we are just as good again, we have a chance.”
