The legal drama ‘The Lincoln Lawyer‘ ended its Season 3 on a rather dramatic cliffhanger. This has fans waiting to know what’s next for Manuel Garcia-Rulfo‘s attorney Mickey Haller.
Amidst buzz about the streaming giant renewing and cancelling some of their shows, a formal announcement on the legal drama has not yet been made. While a fourth season is expected to be green-lit soon, there is strong fan speculation surrounding on the potential Michael Connelly novel that the show will adapt.
If renewed, Season 4 is likely to follow the gripping storyline of ‘The Law of Innocence’, where Haller finds himself facing his toughest case yet – his own, ofcurse. The book’s plot sees Mickey accused of murder after police find a body in the trunk of his Lincoln. Jailed on a massive bail and under threat as an inmate, Mickey decides to represent himself in court and uncover who framed him.
At the same time, fan theories suggest that ‘The Law of Innocence’ could be unlikely, as Titus Welliver’s Bosch is part of a separate streaming service (Prime Video).
‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ has already taken liberties in adapting Connelly’s novels. Characters unique to the show, like Izzy (Jazz Raycole), have proven the series’ flexibility in mixing original and new elements, leaving room for other creative modifications.
As far as the cast in concerned, fans can expect Manuel Garcia-Rulfo to return as Mickey, along with Becki Newton as Lorna, Angus Sampson as Cisco, and Jazz Raycole as Izzy. Yaya DaCosta may also reprise her role as prosecutor Andrea Freeman. Neve Campbell and Krista Warner, who play Mickey’s ex-wife Maggie and their daughter Hayley, may also return, given the unresolved storyline.
Each season has so far premiered about a year apart, with the first season debuting in May 2022, followed by Season 2 in 2023, and Season 3 in October 2024. If Netflix renews the series soon, reports predict a fall 2025 release.
