FC Barcelona set a price for Andreas Christensen’s possible January exit

Andreas Christensen‘s future at FC Barcelona could be a topic of debate once the winter transfer market opens. The Dane has gone virtually unnoticed so far this season due to a tendinopathy in his left Achilles tendon that has kept him out for more than two months, and his return to the pitch does not seem very close.

The player continues to work on recovering from an injury that he has been carrying since last season and that ended up taking its toll on him this year and, as of today, he still does not have a return date. However, this setback has not prevented a couple of European clubs from being interested in his situation in Barcelona.

And according to ‘El Nacional.cat’, both Manchester United and Saint-Germain are reportedly on the trail of the player and would try to sign him in January. The Red Devils are on the verge of a revolution after the dismissal of Erik ten Hag and the hiring of Reuben Amorim as the new coach, while Luis Enrique would like to strengthen his defence and both consider the Dane to be a more than attractive piece for their squads.

Barça have put a price on his transfer

The tough competition in the centre of defence, where the Cubarsí-Iñigo Martínez duo is more than consolidated and Ronald Araújo aims to be a key player for Hansi Flick once he recovers from his physical problem, raises doubts regarding the defender’s continuity at the club.

Barça must register him in January because they gave him a long-term discharge arguing that it was a long-term injury in order to facilitate the registration of Dani Olmo and, a priori, they would not look down on making money with the player to help the club’s accounts.

However, they would not let him go at any price. Spotify Camp Nou are demanding 30 million euros for his transfera figure that doubles the 15 million offered by Old Trafford and that could put his departure in jeopardy. If no team finally meets the Catalans’ demands, they would still have a player who can be useful for Flickalthough all options are on the table.
