Candidate Donald Trump has declared himself the winner of the 2024 US presidential election before the official results are announced.
But during Trump’s victory speech to the excited crowd, the attention was not only on him but also on his son Barron Trump. Many people were shocked because the boy had become much taller than before.
Of the five children who appeared next to Trump when he delivered his victory speech, 5-year-old Barron stood out for his height and size. Specifically, Barron is over 18m tall. Many Americans took to social media to ask each other if the current Barron was the same child who had been huddled next to his mother and father in 2, when Trump defeated his opponent Hillary Clinton.
“Barron Trump looks like he’s as tall as three normal people stacked on top of each other,” one person wrote on social network X.
Another commented: “Oh my god. Barron Trump is twice as tall as he was 8 years ago.”
A third person wrote: “Where did Barron Trump get those incredibly tall genes?”
Trump has spoken publicly about Barron’s height during his presidential campaign. Speaking at the Iowa Republican caucuses in January, he mentioned Barron’s height when talking about his mother-in-law Amalija Knavs, who died earlier that month.
“My mother took great care of Barron,” Trump said. “That’s why he’s so tall. He only eats my mother’s cooking. I told him he’s going to be a basketball player. But he said he’d rather play football. I think he’s better suited to basketball with his height. But you can’t convince your kids to do what you want.”
Trump said that Amalija and her husband were “wonderful parents,” not only to him and his wife, but also to Barron.

Barron Trump is the youngest son of Trump and his wife, Melania Trump. Born March 20, 2006, Barron is Donald Trump’s only child with Melania and shares many of his Slovenian-born mother’s features.
Barron grew up living most of his life in New York. After Donald Trump was elected President of the United States in 2016, he moved to Washington DC with his family and lived in the White House. In 2021, after his father left office, Barron and his mother returned to Florida, to live at the Mar-a-Lago resort.
Barron has a good relationship with his mother. He and Melania Trump often appear together at public events. Melania pays great attention to raising Barron and values protecting his privacy. She once shared that she took care of and supervised his education to ensure that Barron had a normal childhood, despite the media attention.
Melania also decided to stay in New York for a while after Donald Trump took office in 2016, so that Barron could finish the school year before moving to Washington, DC.
Barron appears to be quite introverted and rarely participates in family activities on social media or promotional events, which is a marked difference from his siblings such as Ivanka, Eric and Donald Jr., who are active in business and politics.
Barron’s quiet and reserved personality may be due to the fact that he grew up in an era where the media increasingly interferes in the personal lives of celebrities.
Barron currently attends a private school in Florida. He previously attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Maryland while the family lived in Washington, DC, and before that, the prestigious Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School in New York. The high-quality schools show that the family cares about his academic and personal development.
Barron is interested in nutrition, especially soccer (known as football in the US). He played for his old school team and was even given a personalized jersey by Chelsea FC when the Trump family visited the UK. Barron seems to spend more time on sports than getting involved in politics or the family business.

Because of the large age gap, Barron’s relationship with his siblings is not well-known. However, Barron seems to maintain a friendly and close relationship with his siblings, although they are rarely seen together. His relationship with them may be close but low-key and Barron is allowed some privacy.
Barron is said to be fluent in both English and Slovenian, giving him the ability to communicate well in both languages. This also gives Barron a diverse cultural background, not just limited to American culture.
Barron is still young, and it’s not clear what his career path or professional skills are yet. But with his family background, Barron will likely continue to develop in many different fields, if he decides to appear more in the future.
