Harris originally wanted to appear in front of her supporters on election night at an election party on the grounds of Howard University. However, she canceled this after it became clear that Republican Donald Trump had been able to prevail in crucial states.
According to NBC News, Harris will also call Trump later today (American time) and personally congratulate him on his victory. The station relies on two of the Democrat’s employees. Referring to a representative of the presidential office, it goes on to say that Biden will also speak on the phone with Trump and publicly comment on the election results.
While politicians from various countries around the world have congratulated Donald Trump on his election victory, Harris has not yet commented at all. She neither commented on her own defeat nor did she directly congratulate Trump on winning the election, as is usual.
