Viktor Gyokeres continues to announce himself on the biggest stage, and last night he scored a hat-trick to down Manchester City.
As Calciomercato.com recall, Gyokeres scored four goals on Halloween night in Sporting CP’s last league game. Last night he bagged three more against Pep Guardiola’s side en-route to a 4-1 victory in Ruben Amorim’s last Champions League game before he heads to Manchester United.
The Swedish striker now has 16 goals in 10 league appearances, plus five in the Champions League. The feeling is that next summer he will get a big move, with the possibility being that Amorim takes him to United with him.
However, Arsenal are certainly the team most interested in getting close to the monstrous €100m valuation, but Gyokeres’ performances and goals – even in the presence of Guardiola – open up new horizons.
Of course the former Coventry City man has a price tag that is untouchable for Italian football, but in the summer Milan made attempts both with the Swede’s agents and with Sporting, but were told to pay his clause.
The Portuguese club have never opened up to a negotiation of the figure, meaning they want the €100m. Considering his frightening growth, it is unlikely that the will change their mind in the coming months.
