Who Is The Gorgeous ‘Woman In Black’ On Stage With Donald Trump? Credit: AP
As President Donald Trump celebrated his return to power for a second time, among family members on stage during his victory speech was a woman dressed in all black – Lara Trump. Wife of Eric Trump, the third child of President Trump, Lara is known for her confident presence and stunning looks, and is a prominent figure alongside her father-in-law. On stage, she shared the spotlight with the newly-reelected president, and stood to his right, wearing a black sheer ensemble with shoulder pads and sleeves that culminated in fur-esque detailing.
And this isn’t the first time the daughter-in-law has turned to black for a big event. Soon after Trump’s assassination attempt back in July, Lara had worn a sleeveless black top with satin when she delivered her keynote speech to close the second day of the Republican convention.
From her career accomplishments to her role in the Trump family, here’s everything you need to know about Lara Trump, a woman who has made a name for herself in politics and beyond.
Born Lara Lea Yunaska in Wilmington, North Carolina, Lara Trump is the co-chair of the Republican National Committee. Lara met Eric Trump, the son of Donald Trump, in 2008. The two began dating, and after six years of dating, they married in 2014 at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Together, Lara and Eric have two children.
She is a pivotal figure in the family, and has stood in Trump’s support even as he faced criticism for his lack of outreach towards female voters. Even as Melania and Ivanka Trump remained absent at a key ‘Women for Trump’ rally, Lara Trump rallied voters in Donald Trump’s favour.
Before becoming involved in the political spotlight, Lara built a successful media career. She was the producer and host of Trump Productions’ Real News Update, and also worked as a producer for Inside Edition, before moving onto Fox News in 2021 as a contributor. In December 2022, the company and Lara parted ways when Trump announced his bid for reelection. During Donald Trump’s 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns, Lara took on prominent roles, emerging as a vital force in mobilising support and communicating key messages.
In her personal life, Lara Trump is also a singer. In 2023, she released a cover of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down,” which debuted at #10 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart and #6 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart. She began producing her own music in 2024; however she has faced significant criticism, with many reviewers claiming she isn’t talented and uses heavy ‘autotune’ in her music.
