Four women were victims of sexual assault by a cyclist who was loitering in the parking lot of the Ecully Grand Ouest shopping center.
According to Progressthe individual, aged 26, had been loitering in the shopping center parking lot for some time, enough for some women to report his strange behavior to the security guards.
During the period from October 27 to 29, the man allegedly attacked three women in their twenties in or around the parking lot. The cyclist acted in the same way each time, attacking his victims from behind and touching their buttocks and genitals.
He notably attacked a mother accompanied by her baby in a stroller. The individual put his hand on the young woman's face then threw her to the ground. After a struggle, the cyclist managed to rape the mother.
Recognized thanks to surveillance cameras, the man was indicted on October 31 for rape and sexual assault and incarcerated at the Corbas remand center, in a specialized unit. His lawyer, for his part, is awaiting the results of the psychiatric expertise.
