Young Brazilian talent Gabriel Bortoleto expressed excitement when confirming his entry into the Sauber team, Audi's future Formula 1 factory team, where he will compete alongside Nico Hülkenberg. Bortoleto, who comes from a successful career in karting and in the European base categories, sees Sauber and Audi as a chance to grow and consolidate his career in the main category of world motorsport.
“This is one of the most exciting projects in motorsport, if not in all of sport,” said Bortoleto. “Being part of a team that combines the rich history of Sauber and Audi in motorsport is a true honor. My goal is to grow with this ambitious project and reach the top of motorsport. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity the team has given me and the chance to work alongside an experienced driver like Nico.”
Bortoleto highlights the importance of being able to learn from Hülkenberg and the team structure, recognizing Sauber as an environment that traditionally develops young talents. “I am confident that together, we will write our own success story,” added the Brazilian.
