On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Green March, the governor of the province of Settat, Ibrahim Abou Zaid, accompanied by a high-level delegation, inaugurated several structuring projects in the areas of infrastructure, road transport, education, school accommodation, drinking water supply and health.
Last Monday, Abou Zaid launched reconstruction work on a structure on provincial road No. 3620, at kilometer 9+100, in the commune of Gdana. Financed by the Special Road Fund with a budget of 2,527,121.34 dirhams, this project will be completed in three months. It will connect the localities of Oulad Saïd and Gdana, aiming to streamline traffic on this road axis, improve the quality of service and open up a population of nearly 8,000 inhabitants in the region.
As for the commune of Sidi Mohammed Ben Rahal, the governor inaugurated the boarding school “ Sidi Mohammed Ben Rahal“, financed by the National Initiative for Human Development with a budget of 4,560,689.00 dirhams. This establishment, covering an area of 1,040 m², can accommodate up to 80 students and will be completed in 12 months.
Wanting to make Settat a connected and annexed city, this Tuesday, November 5, Abou Zaid and his delegation also inaugurated, in the Sidi Loghlimi – Mellah district of Settat, the Ain Settat drinking water treatment station. Two mobile groundwater demineralization stations, capable of producing six liters of drinking water per second, have been installed to serve the town of Settat, with distribution provided by the regional multi-service company Casablanca-Settat. Planned for 8 months, this project was completed in just 5 months. It includes the installation of two 6 liters per second mobile demineralization stations, pipelines for raw and treated water, a 9 liters per second borehole, as well as supporting infrastructure, a dedicated power supply and treatment by reverse osmosis.
In addition, Abou Zaid then kicked off the construction work of a level II urban health center in the commune of Ras El Ain, at a cost of 1,898,994.00 dirhams, financed by the Program reduction of social and territorial disparities in rural areas. This 500 m² health center will include: a medical examination room, a meeting and training room, a space dedicated to maternal and child health, a waiting room, a reception area, a pharmacy, a consultation and vaccination room, an additional testing room, a storage room, sanitary facilities and an area for waste.
In the commune of Ben Ahmed, the governor supervised the launch of work for an education and training center for women, financed by the National Initiative for Human Development with a budget of 1,452,300.00 dirhams. This center, with an area of 314 m², will be completed in 8 months and will include an administration, a multipurpose room, a reading room, a sewing room, a craft room, a computer room and sanitary facilities.
Thus, the governor and his delegation inaugurated the public lighting project for the entrances and main streets of the commune of Loulad, financed by the commune council with a budget of 6,038,436.00 dirhams.
