NAU Garners Four Big Sky All-Conference Selections

FARMINGTON, Utah (November 5, 2024) – The Lumberjacks will take four Big Sky All-Conference awards into the 2024 tournament, with the conference announcement coming this afternoon highlighting Haylee Phoenix’s first team honors, Avery Ott and Joey Lujan’s second team honors, and Trinity Corcoran’s honorable mention.

Phoenix adds to her Golden Boot award, an honor given to the student-athlete with the most goals scored in conference play. Phoenix scored five goals over four conference matches, recording one multi-goal game against Northern Colorado. The senior separated herself amongst the league’s other top scorers when she netted her fifth goal of the year in the regular season-finale on Sunday against Idaho State. The Fontana, California native leads the Lumberjacks in points on the season (10) and ranks second in the Big Sky in points through conference-only games.

Lujan has made noise in her final season with the Jacks as well, closely following Phoenix on NAU’s points leaderboard with nine, coming off three goals and three assists. Lujan scored a goal and grabbed two assists in the final week of regular season play, scoring against Weber State and adding two assists at Idaho State to ramp up momentum heading into the tournament while leading the team in minutes, recording 1,421.

Ott brings in her first career all-conference award, scoring a goal in the Jacks final regular season matchup at Idaho State for the game-winner. Ott added two assists through the season, one at Arizona State to open the regular season and another in NAU’s home finale. Ott has totaled 1,183 minutes on the pitch in addition to a .344 shots-on-goal percentage.

In goal, Corcoran has tabbed 1,260 minutes, stopping 87 shots for a save percentage of 0.837. The senior keeper has totaled four victories for the Jacks, picking up three solo shutouts and one shared. Corcoran’s award marks the third-consecutive season being named to an all-conference team.

NAU will gear up for the first round of the 2024 Big Sky Tournament, as they are set to take on No. 5 seeded Sacramento State at 2 p.m. MST on Wednesday, Nov. 5 in Missoula, Mont.
