Anna Paulina Luna wins reelection to Congress in Tampa Bay district

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Florida GOP Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of District 13 won reelection Tuesday night, defeating Democratic opponent Whitney Fox.

Luna was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022.

Her seat was held by Democrat Charlie Crist, before he ran for governor and lost to Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2022.

It is positioned in Pinellas County, running from Tarpon Springs to western St. Petersburg.

One of the last polls conducted in the race had Luna leading, contradicting results from “St. Pete Polls” that had Luna either trailing her opponent or tied.

She was previously underestimated in her 2022 race by the same pollster.

Pinellas County Republicans ultimately held a turnout lead in early voting.

Luna was formerly an “influencer” and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

She is heavily aligned with former President Donald Trump and received his endorsement in the race.

“Anna is a warrior, she is a winner, and it’s time for all America First Republicans to unite behind her strong campaign,” Trump said of the congresswoman.

Some of her top priorities including working to make life more affordable for her district and standing against “far-left” ideology.

Fox campaigned on protecting abortion, battling “corporate price-gouging,” combatting insurance costs and lowering prescription drug costs.
