US election 2024 live: Three states called for Trump, Harris takes one as early polls for safe states come in

Polls are about to close in the first states, which means the Associated Press (AP) might start to make some race calls.

At 11am AEDT, polls will close in the states of Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginiaand the battleground state of Georgia.

Polls are also about to close in most of Floridaand because state law allows postal votes to be processed before election day, we should see that state reporting its figures quite quickly.

We’ll be watching to see if there are any clues in Florida’s figures for what’s going on nationally.
