This is good: he is receiving all the continent's leaders in Budapest for a summit of the European Political Community on Thursday and of the EU on Friday. Some people feared these days that if the Republican won, the Hungarian Prime Minister would surprise them by inviting him by videoconference to their dinner planned for Thursday evening to discuss, precisely, the result of the American elections.

Although they already had the experience in 2016, Europeans seemed paralyzed while waiting for the verdict of the American ballot boxes. At least this time there was no collective denial. « We prepare for the result, whoever wins, recently confided a European diplomat. In 2016, the Commission was confident that Trump would not win. » For several weeks, the Twenty-Seven have been seeking to anticipate the potential consequences…
