The affected municipalities will be able to officially make their declaration to the insurance companies and obtain compensation.

This Tuesday, November 5, 2024, the Rhône prefecture communicated about the heavy bad weather which hit the region, near Lyon, on October 17 and 18, 2024.

She thus announced the recognition of the state of natural disaster for 41 communes of the Rhône and the metropolis of Lyon, under the natural phenomenon “floods and mudslides”, by the French State via a decree published in the Official Journal.

Givors, -Pierre-Bénite, Tassin…

A few weeks ago, several municipalities were seriously affected by bad weather. That of Givors, in particular, found itself underwater and inaccessible.

On October 25, 2024, in view of the situation, the new Prime Minister Michel Barnier traveled to the region to meet the victims and see the extent of the damage. During his visit, the head of government promised state compensation.
