A controller threatened with a gun in Échirolles: agents exercise their right of withdrawal, no tram this Tuesday

No trams and almost no buses will run this Tuesday afternoon in the metropolitan area. The agents of M Réso decided to exercise their right of withdrawal after a control agent was threatened by a gun around 7 a.m., in a line 16 bus which was at the Danielle Casanova stop at Échirolles. According to a union source, the agent was in the process of fining a passenger on the bus when another individual, outside, threatened him and displayed a handgun. The officer warned the driver who immediately left the stop. The attacker, who was riding a bicycle, also left the scene.

M Réso agents exercise their right of withdrawal

Drivers apply their right of withdrawal since we are in a fairly chaotic situation“, estimates Georges Garcia, of the FO union. The unions have a meeting with the management of M Réso at 2:30 p.m. “We'll see how it goes, depending on whether the network will work or not tomorrow” Wednesday. “Management doesn’t want to hear anything”explain union members.

The trade unionist denounces a “ghettoization of society and in Grenoble it happens every week or almost. We are obliged to react and stay safe“, continues Georges Garcia.

Deviations this Tuesday

Before deciding on the right of withdrawal, the lines 16 and C7 were diverted to avoid this area. Line 16 does not run between the Auguste Delaune and Gendarmerie stops, so the temporary terminus is Denis Papin. For the C7, the Bayard and Colonel Manhès stops are not served.

The threatened control agent will file a complaint.
