“They are rogue capitalists”reacts Tuesday, November 5 on franceinfo Gilles Bourdouleix, mayor of Cholet (Maine-et-), after Michelin announced its intention to close, by 2026, the factory located in his town. The same decision was taken for the site (Morbihan). A total of 1,254 employees are affected.

The chosen one “learned of the decision officially at 8:15 a.m.” Tuesday, but “it’s no surprise to him”. Gilles Bourdouleix accuses the management of the tire manufacturer of having allowed “rot” the Cholet site. “Michelin is doing very well financially, Michelin is making a lot of money. Michelin has diversified into a number of sectors”insists the councilor. But the French company created its “own competition to the detriment of French sites” by relocating part of its production abroad.
