WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Wilmington’s record highs for November 5 and 6 are both 84 and, while your First Alert Forecast doesn’t explicitly call for them to fall, they’ll at least be challenged with lots of upper 70s and lower 80s around. If you’re heading to the polls this Election Tuesday, the chance for a shower ought to stay near a slim 10%; rain odds will trend from low to medium as a weak cold front approaches Thursday.
The Cape Fear Region faces no definable tropical threats in this First Alert Forecast period, but there continues to be action in the low latitudes. Foremost: Rafael will bring tropical storm and hurricane conditions to parts of the Cayman Islands and Cuba as it tracks from the Caribbean Sea into the Gulf of Mexico through midweek. Late in the week, wind shear ought to cause Rafael to weaken some; it could still manage to bring some unsettled weather to the US Gulf Coast.
